All toy breeds are very family-friendly dogs. But please make sure that you do some research BEFORE you bring home a dog. If you are going to get a small dog from a breeder, make sure that the breeder properly tests all of their dogs for health problems, and that they are reputable. For example, if you’re interested in a Chihuahua, check the breed’s club website to make sure that breeder is a member. If you aren’t interested in getting a purebred dog from a breeder, then please adopt. Don’t purchase a mixed breed from a person who considers themselves a “breeder” because they obviously aren’t. Just consider all of your options before you make a decision.
