We are getting ready to launch a new community feature that members have been requesting for quite some time: soon youll be able to add Gotcha dates and Rainbow Bridge dates to your pets profile if youd like those days to be acknowledged. If you add the full date to your profile (day, month and year), then Birthday and Gotcha dates will be displayed onyour pet pages all the time, and on the day of the annifursary we’ll add an announcement at the top of your pets page.

You’ll continue to find the fields to enter your pet’s birthday in the main edit profile screen. You’ll soon find the option for adding Gotcha date in the story section of your pet’s edit profile screen. Rainbow Bridge date fields will also be added to the “story” section of the profile screen. You will only see those if you click the checkbox indicating that your pet is no longer with us.

And finally, you will see reminders on your Bark Board when your friends Birthdays, Gotcha Days and Rainbow Bridge days come around so you can remember to give them a little extra love.

These reminders will also show up on your Friends Activity and Corral Activity pages.

(Note: For birthday, if you’d rather not have this day acknowledged, then just do not select the full date – day – month- year – in your pet’s profile. If you select month and year, for example, then we can still calculate your pet’s age but we would not show any birthday alerts. For Gotcha Day and Rainbow Bridge anniversary, do not enter those dates if you would prefer not to have them remembered.)
