Wow, was this a tough contest for our panel of judges! We received submissions from 77 Dogsters, and every single one of them was heart-meltingly adorable. Dogsters sure have some beautiful dogs with fabulous sweaters!

Originally we just set out to award 50 Zealies to the top dog, but we ended up adding some bonus categories so we could give a few more warm and woolly dogs some notice. Best in Show still gets 50 Zealies, and category winners will receive 20 Zealies each.)

And now, the envelope, please…

Best in Show

Pug Lilly won the contest because 1) she put up with wearing this sweater even though she clearly did not enjoy the experience (her pug mug says it all), and 2) nothing says Christmas better than a red sweater with a green tree with a star that lights up! "She was unimpressed..." writes her person, Linda Lombardi.

Best Sport in a Sweater

Kody Bear, aka Snuggle, has had just about enough of posing in his Christmas sweater in Florida on a warm day. His person, Jennifer Gravely, entitled this photo "Is it Over Yet?" The 8-year-old dachshund normally loves sweaters, writes Jennifer, but when she snapped this shot, he was pretty sweatered out.

Best Dual Use of a Christmas Sweater

Levi spent part of his life on the streets, so his person, Mary Agnew Moore, is surprised that he gets as cold as he does when the mercury dips below 50 degrees. This mellow dog's sweater not only keeps him warm, but it offers some protection from the nails of his friendly avian housemates, Lola and Monty, who like to hop around on his back!

Best Biped Dog in a Christmas Sweater

This adorable pooch is so happy about Christmas that he (she?) can't stay on four feet! The cutie didn't come to us with a name, but this photo was sent in by Alan Kaminsky.

Dogs Having Most Fun in Sweaters

The judges loved this action-packed photo of Molly Woggins and Muffin in sweaters crocheted for them by their loving person. That crazy, excited expression on Mollie's face is priceless.

Sweetest Semi-Sweatered Christmas Duo

We received entries from a few darling duos, but Sparky's sweet smile melted us, and his reindeer sweater certainly speaks to the season. Kobe hates getting dressed up in sweaters, according to owner Kristin Cummings, so the most he would tolerate was his funny Christmas collar.

Sweatered Dog Whose Pose Most Says “Hug Me!”

All the dogs in the contest were very huggable, but there was something about Murphy the Mutt that just makes you want to jump through the computer screen to give him a big holiday hug..

Cheapest Christmas Sweater

Uwe's person, Diane M. Jachimowicz, bought this great sweater for just at Target. Looks like she got a canine candy cane as a bonus!

Best Hanukkah Sweater

George loves attention, says owner Diana Sarafin, and he gets plenty of it when he's in this dashing sweater, posing in front of the Christmas tree with his favorite draedls

Happiest Sweatered Dog in the Snow

If you look closely under Jada's snow-topped nose and above her snowy chin, you can see a most delighted smile. Jada seems very at home in her sweater and in the snow.
