Super Sniffing Dogs In Canadian Airports
Airport officials in Canada are using dogs to sniff out items made with potentially bird flu-infected products in passenger luggage. With the H5N1 strain of bird flu taking flight in Europe, airports are a prime location to catch anyone entering the country with feathers or other possible bird-byproducts. So officials are concentrating their dogs and their efforts on primarily European visitors.
The Dog Channel article reports that experts say that the main threat of bird flu comes via airplanes, not migratory birds.
