What is going on in Brookshire, Texas? Nicole barked in to tell us about the Zeke Fund Animal Rescue being thrown out of Brookshire’s Pound. Let’s see, the Zeke Fund improves the shelter and then the shelter officials throw them out? If anybody has more imformation on this situation, I’m sure we’d all love for you to bark it in!

The Zeke Fund has even hired several part-time employees to clean the pound.
Now after more than two years and over 500 lives saved, the City of Brookshire throws the Zeke Fund and all of the dogs still at the pound out. While this will not be the end of the Zeke fund (the Zeke Fund pays for boarding of 50+ dogs and has at least that many in foster homes), it will be the end for any of the 40+ dogs left at the Brookshire pound as of Monday, February 19, 2007.

150 Animals Face Death If Not Adopted
BROOKSHIRE, Texas — More than 150 dogs and cats could be put to sleep this week because of overcrowding at a Waller County animal shelter, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
The Zeke Fund Animal Rescue has about 150 dogs and cats that need homes by Friday.
“We need fosters, sponsors, adopters to step forward and help us out at the moment,” said Corrie Ramirez of the Zeke Fund Animal Rescue.
The Zeke Fund is footing the bill to keep the animals alive.
“They’re running out of time. We have until this coming Friday and if we don’t have the financial resources, some of these dogs will end up going to Houston to be euthanized,” said Steve Harden of Zeke Fund Animal Rescue.
The Zeke Fund is also looking for a new permanent home as its own shelter.
