O’Grady praises the vets who saved his pet from going blindBy Aidan Mcgurran
TELLY presenter Paul O’Grady yesterday praised vets who saved the sight of his beloved dog Buster.
Buster, known to millions of viewers as a frequent guest on the Paul O’Grady Show on Channel 4 and ITV, needed surgery for an infected ulcer in his left eye.
The operation was a success – and Buster, an 11-year old shi-tzu and bichon frise cross, is now back with his relieved master.
Paul, 51, who spent thousands on the treatment, said: “The vets have been fantastic and I am so grateful to them for saving Buster’s sight. It’s been so difficult not having him around. But it was a great comfort knowing he was in such good hands.” Sarah Gray, an opthalmic nurse at the Animal Health Trust clinic in Newmarket, Suffolk, said: “Buster may be a celebrity but he was the perfect patient. He is such a character. We’re delighted to have treated him successfully.”
