Diesel, a one-year-old London dog, was on a walk with his owners friend when he took off running, ostensibly after a fox.

But it was not a fox he was really after. It was his owner, who was on holiday visiting her mum in the coastal town of Clacton-on-Sea. Diesel didnt run willy-nilly in pursuit of his traveling best friend. No, thats not efficient enough. The brilliant dog headed for a train station.

Once he got to the train station, authorities conclude, he boarded a train, got off at a station more than two miles away, and walked a mile to another station. From there, he took an express train to the Stansted Aiport, about 35 minutes down the track.

At this point hed been gone overnight, so his route to the express train may not have been quite as express as hed hoped. (Trip planning does take time, especially without the internet.) The day after he got away, security cameras found him traveling alone on the Stansted Express rail service. The cameras picked him up at the station five minutes before Stansted. It seems he was sitting, waiting by the doors.

Shocked security staff collared Diesel as he hopped off the train at the airport and started making his way towards the terminal building, reports the Telegraph.

Umm, he was making his way toward the terminal building? This is a dog with a mission! This is a dog with no need of a doggy GPS.

Diesels person, Sarah Chapman, was thrilled when she was eventually reunited with Diesel. She believes he may well have come looking for her, because she has been unemployed for a while, and she rarely leaves him.

She says Diesel has driven with her to her mums before, and they pass through Stansted on the way. Wow. This dog is amazing. We absolutely think he knew what he was doing. He probably even had his airplane ticket tucked away on him somewhere

If any GPS companies are looking for a name for a new GPS model, especially for dogs, have we got a name for you. I will be first in line to buy The Diesel.
