How terrible for the Chants and their furbabies! There has been a spate of thefts involving hotels, vehicles and dogs. What is going on? For now, the best idea is probably to keep the dogs in the hotel when they are not in your direct line of sight.

This news comes to us from ABC7 News.

Show Dogs At National Stock Show Stolen
Dogs In Back Of Owner’s Stolen Pickup

DENVER — Four border collie dogs that had competed Friday and Saturday at the Western Stock Show were stolen Sunday along with the pickup truck they were in at the time, their owners said.

Jim and Patti Chant said their four dogs were in two metal dog carriers in the bed of their 2003 Ford F350 when it was stolen from the Ramada Plaza Convention Center in Northglenn near Interstate 25.

The dogs, two male and two female, all have collars with the Chants’ contact information on them.

Jim Chant is the superintendent of Northwest Stock Show Cattledog Herding Competition.

Jim and Patti Chant said they are worried about what the thieves will do to the dogs, though they hope they will show up in an animal shelter.

Anyone with information about the stolen vehicle or the dogs is asked to contact authorities.
