Dear GiGi,
I just went on vacation with my honey, and we barely had anything to say to each other the whole time. She just wanted to sleep late and watch crappy TV, while I was itching to go out and see the sights and the bright lights.
Now I’m wondering whether we’re basically incompatible, even though we’re great at sorting out grocery lists and cleaning out the litter box and all those everyday things you do when you’re at home. How do I get over this feeling?
Heartbroken on Holiday
Dear HOH, (giggle)
Holiday, huh? Not from these parts?
Who goes on “holiday” to sit around and watch TV? When I go out, there’s no holding me back!
Well, I guess there is … that leash and all. BUT if I had my choice I’d be running all over town, taking in the sights, smells, and that half-eaten french fry in the gutter.
Maybe you and your honey have lost that lovin’ feelin’? I guess it all depends on what is most important to you. While the excitement and passion is what bonds, it’s also fleeting. The honey who makes the everyday stuff fun is the one who is worth keeping for the long haul.
Happy “Holidays,”
GiGi
