Annie’s Blankets Bedding For Shelter Animals

This is a fresh idea for assisting animal rescue and shelter work. Annie’s Blankets in the San Francisco area collects old towels and blankets and recycles them into fresh bedding for shelter pets.

My name is Edie Achterman. I am the president of a new nonprofit called Annie’s Blankets, a Bay Area blanket collection service for dogs and cats. We collect blankets and towels and distribute them, on a rotating basis, to local animal shelters and vet clinics where heavy laundry loads creates an ongoing need. Our slogan is, New life for old blankets and towels.”
