Esperanza barked this announcement in to the All Fur Fun Group. What a marvelous idea! What a wonderful way for new folks to be made to feel more at home on Dogster and Catster!

In honor of Junes National Adopt a Dog/Cat Month, we are announcing an Adopt a Dogster/Catster event. This is a Big Brother/Big Sister event where we can “adopt” another cat or pup and be a mentor. The older dogs/cats or those who have been around Dogster/Catster longer can adopt a newbie. It is a fantastic way to make new friends and to make new Dogster/Catster members feel welcome in this great community.

Bridge Doggies and Kitties can play a special role by mentoring and helping out dogs and cats that are in need and families that have recently had a beloved fur baby cross over to the bridge.

We are looking for mentors to be a Big Sister or Big Brother to a new Dogster member. You can do this by either choosing a new member yourself that you would like to mentor and contacting them or by volunteering your services and we will match you with a new member who has expressed interest in the event.

We have recruiters looking for mentors and you can also p-mail Georgie to let us know you would like to be a mentor. We would truly love your help. It will be a great way to get to know each other and new members of our Dogster/Catster community.

Each pup in your family can sponsor a new member or your whole family can sponsor one. It depends on how much time you have. If you are a one pup or cat family and want to sponsor more than one newbie, that is great too!!

Any new members that want to participate, you should also p-mail Georgie and we will hook you up with a mentor. If you have a specific mentor in mind, we certainly will approach that pup/cat for you and see if they are available.

We are planning some fun things to do to get better acquainted and to teach the new pups about the great groups in dogster, and all sorts of other things that will make them feel at home right away.

We are very excited about this and hope that you will all participate. After all, you can never have too many pals!!
