Wando, a drug-sniffing dog, will be sniffing out dust bunnies and dropped crumbs for the foreseeable future now that he’s the latest victim of bad economic times. Wando was laid off from his job on the Jeannette, Penn., police force, along with some human colleagues, including his handler. It’s bad timing, because this small Western Pennsylvania city is having some real problems with drug trafficking.
Maybe Wando can team up with the dog who narked on his owner’s marijuana-growing operation in southeastern Michigan the other day. After all, the only thing separating them is Lake Erie.
