Angus The Warrior Shares Poem

Once again a member of the Pet Poetry Group graces us with a moving poem. This time it’s Angus the Warrior and his “Poem in Honour of Adoption.”

The incredibly beautiful photos that Little Bit’s boss takes for the Woodford Humane Society moved me to write the following poem.

Each face, a portrait of hope.
Are you the one?
Who will let me warm your lap,
And fill your days with love?

Are you the one?
Who will give me a chance to show:
What a good dog I am,
That old dogs have young hearts,
And special needs dogs are especially wonderful?

Let me share your joys,
And comfort your sorrows.
Let me be your companion,
And confidant.
Let me bewith you.

And at night, when I lay down my head,
Just before the happy dreams come,
Ill smile;
Knowing you are the one.
