10 Dog Beds — Made of Dogs

Let's be clear: The dogs in these photos ARE the beds. They're so comfy! (Some cats agree.)

Yawn! Oh boy, we feel so sleepy. It’d be nice to curl up for a nap. This is a particularly delicious-looking sun puddle. Now we just need a place to put our head. How about this nice, comfy dog bed? This literal dog bed.

As these animals (and human) demonstrate, when you’re in want of a bed, sometimes all you need is a dog.

Here are 10 dog beds that are made of dogs.

This photo is from Dogster member Derby. Derby is a kind Labrador who apparently does not mind when his dog-friend Simba climbs up on his back to sit like a king on a throne.

It may seem counterintuitive, but cats are fond of dog beds. At first, it doesn’t make sense, but if you think about it, it actually makes a lot of sense. Dogs are soft and warm, like a fresh basket of laundry. Whereas laundry baskets happen maybe once a week, the family dog is usually lying around. Bonus: The family dog probably doesn’t mind the kneading massage.

Exhibit B.

Human friends are (often) a little too big for dog beds, in which case dogs make perfectly good pillows — as seen here.

Cats can’t seem to get enough dog beds (though we would advise this cat to curl up on the other end of the dog).

Sleepy puppies will often seek the comfort of an older dog bed.

Dog pillows are not reserved for human friends only. Sometimes a tired dog just wants a place to rest his head.

No, you are not seeing double. Here is the Shiba Inu dog-bed pile, known to melt hearts with their stacked cuteness.

A variation on the dog bed is the dog seat, or the butt-head bed.

If you find your dog bed not up to your standards of comfort, use a (normal) pillow for added luxury.

Do you have a literal dog bed at home? Do you sometimes use your dog as a pillow? Tell us about it in the comments!

But what do you do if you have a dog who photo-bombs your Craigslist ad? At least there’s comfort in knowing that while your dog may not know when to get out of the photo, he’s at least always happy to see you, and, in their own ways, that they’re just like us.
