I knew there were some terrific dog-related apps, and had tried a few with varying degrees of success. I wanted to sift through them to find the best, but Mashable beat me to it, and has come up with a list of what they consider the top 10 iPhone apps for dog lovers.
I don’t necessarily agree with some of them. Off Leash, by Eukanuba, had completely wrong names and map info for several nearby off-leash areas. And I personally do not need to spend 99 cents on DogiDuty, which helps you keep track of Fifi’s pees and poos. I suppose that’s a good app for professional dog walkers, though, particularly if they want to send notes to a dog’s person about the bodily functions du jour.
Others on the list are fun discoveries. I especially enjoyed Fail Dogs, which seems has a somewhat Snuzzy-ish feel. (Snuzzy, we love you! When do we get an iPhone app??)
And I’m happy to see that Dogster’s Dog Park app comes in at No. 3! Three woofs for Dogster! Oddly enough, the App Store rates Dog Park a 12+ (as in for people older than 12) because of “Infrequent/mild alcohol, tobacco, or drug use or references; infrequent/mild mature/suggestive themes; and infrequent/mild profanity or crude humor.” I personally saw none of that, try as I might. I’d probably find more suggestive themes in my flashlight or weather apps. I’m not sure what they’re talking about. Any ideas, Dogsters?
