Best Tricks: Sit, Shake, Come, Down, Stay! Just received his CGC!
Arrival Story: We were staying with family when I received a call from the animal control center we adopted Mia from. They received a very shy owner turn in and asked if I was interested. I initially said No because we had 4 dogs already, but they asked if I would at least take him over the weekend so he wouldn't have to be so scared at the shelter. I agreed and by Monday I called to tell them I'd be signing the adoption papers later in the week.
Bio: Teddy is a great dog. I don't think he was socialized much by his previous owners and he was very shy but never aggressive. He attended a wallflower class and has since graduated to level 4 in his training classes. He is food motivated and that is a great plus in helping him overcome his shyness. Teddy has greatly improved. He has even started to enjoy going to small dog playgroups on Saturdays. We are hoping Teddy will test and pass his CGC this summer. I hope everyone will consider a rescued dog or cat and please spay or neuter to reduce the number of unwanted pets each year. Just an update! On 6-27-07 Teddy passed his CGC test! We are so proud of his progress!!
Mom didn't make me spend the entire time at the vet and picked me up early so could recover at home. I'm doing pretty well and ate dinner just fine.
They stole one of my toofers and I have one that is cracked but they are letting me keep that one because it isn't diseased and it is a molar that would be a difficult removal. So not too bad with the dental
I got the one growth removed from my leg and have 3 stitches but they decided to leave the little one on my eyelid since it isn't causing any problems. Removing it might result in the loss of too much of the eyelid itself when sutured and that could potentially lead to eye issues with the lid not properly closing. That is one less incision so I'm not complaining!
I have a few days of pain meds but I am already pretty perky so I'm definitely feeling much better.
It's been awhile since we wrote but today Teddy was dropped off at the vet's office for his dental as well as the removal of a small tumor and what appears to be a mole. We haven't heard from the vet so I am assuming that everything is fine so far.
I don't expect any issues, aside from allergies, he has always been pretty healthy and active.
Keeping positive thoughts that everything went well. They said to call after 1:00 PM
