There is a risk to humans from handling contaminated foods, especially if they have not washed their hands after coming into contact with the products or surfaces exposed to these pet foods.
If you have this product, take immediate action:
- Do not feed it to your pets or any animals.
- Do not sell or donate the recalled bags.
- Return the food to where you bought it, or dispose of it safely so that children, pets, and wildlife cannot access it.
- After handling the food or its containers, wash and sanitize all pet food bowls, cups, storage bins, and your hands.

Health Risks from Plastic Contamination
If a dog ingests plastic, it may cause gastrointestinal upset and potentially lead to intestinal obstruction FDA, which is a serious medical emergency. The severity depends on the amount consumed and the size of the plastic pieces.
Symptoms to Watch For
Dogs that have eaten plastic may show symptoms including vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, or stomach discomfort FDA. These signs can appear shortly after ingestion or develop over time.

- Monitor your dog closely for any symptoms
- Contact your veterinarian if your dog shows any of the symptoms listed above, especially if they’ve consumed the product recently.
Good news: No illnesses or injuries have been reported so far from this recall, and only 300 cases were affected across 14 states and Ontario, Canada.
Return the product: Take the recalled food back to your retailer for a refund.
The most serious concern with plastic ingestion is intestinal blockage, which would require veterinary intervention or possibly surgery. If you notice your dog acting unusually lethargic, refusing food, or vomiting repeatedly, seek veterinary care right away.
