September 24, 2025 –Darwin’s Natural Pet Products (Arrow Reliance, Inc.) has recalled two lots of its BioLogics All-Natural & Grain-Free Beef Recipe for Dogs after FDA testing found Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono) contamination.
What You Need to Know About Salmonella and Listeria Monocytogenes Poisoning
If your pet has a Salmonella infection, they may become lethargic and have fever, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Some less obvious side effects are decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet has become infected but is still otherwise healthy, they can still be carriers of Salmonella and infect other animals or humans. If you know your pet has consumed the recalled product or is experiencing these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
Listeria monocytogenes infections in pets are rare but can cause signs like diarrhea, anorexia, fever, nervous, muscular, and respiratory issues, miscarriage, depression, shock, and death.
Pets can be carriers even without signs, spreading the bacteria through their feces and saliva to their environment and other pets or people. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and shows signs, contact your veterinarian.

Important Message for People Who Handled These Foods

The infection can spread to the nervous system, causing meningitis and other serious illnesses. Pregnant women, the young, the elderly, and those with weak immune systems are especially vulnerable.
If you show signs of infection after contact with recalled products or a pet that has consumed them, contact your healthcare provider.
