Does your dog sleep in your bed? If so, when she hops into bed, does she displace the top sheet so you’re left exposed to the night air? There’s nothing that contrasts more starkly than a warm snuggly dog on one side and your chilly arm, leg and other parts on the other. (Jake sleeps on a comfy dog bed, so I haven’t experienced it first hand, but I hear it can be a real pain.)

Enter the Pleat Sheet, which effectively eliminates sheet hogs. It’s a nifty new breed of sheet designed with the dog lover in mind. It features a patented expandable pleat that unfolds to create extra wings of cover at night, and easily folds back into the shape of a normal flat sheet for making up the bed in the morning. That means when your dog plops into your bed at night, she will not “steal” the sheet. (She may still steal the blanket, but at least you’ll still have some quality sheet over you. The company may roll out a pleat blanket at some point to guarantee full coverage.)

Here’s a little video demo of how a Pleat Sheet works.

The Premier pet product company is generously offering one lucky Dogster a Pleat Sheet set, consisting of one top expandable sheet, a deep fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. The winner may choose from full, queen or king, and white or ivory damask stripes. The sets have a retail value of $100 to $150 depending on size.

To enter our Pleat Sheet contest, leave a comment involving any amusing or sweet story or description about your dog sleeping. It can be anything from frightful snoring to odd sleeping positions to falling asleep during in the middle of an agility contest, as a friend’s dog once did.

Entries will be accepted until next Tuesday, August 24, at noon PDT. We’ll sort through the valid entries and do a random drawing for the winner. The winner will be announced on August 25. You may enter as many times as you like if you have good stories to tell!

Keep in mind that your dog doesn’t have to sleep on your bed in order for you to enjoy the sheets; they’re handy if you have kids or a human sheet hog, too.
