That’s the news coming out of President Isabel’s Animal Commission! Thanks to Russell for barking this news in to the Commission!
We just learned that the Tipton County, TN animal shelter in Brigton, TN will be euthanizing 80% of the dogs currently in the shelter by 12:00 noon this Wednesday before they close for the Thanksgiving holidays so that they have less work to do and less to clean when they get back.
The animals that are lucky enough to survive will not be tended to until Monday morning when the shelter re-opens!!!
If you are near there and can foster a dog, want to adopt, or know someone who does PLEASE PLEASE go today and tomorrow and rescue a new friend.
They are located at 8621 HWY 51 S, Brighton, TN. Their phone number is 901-837-5919 .
I hope at least one life can be saved. I am just devastated to know that this is happening.
PLEASE find it your hearts to help these poor babies! & Spread the word!
Eddie Essig’s mom was good enough to bark this in:
Hi Joy, Eddie’s Mom here. I was reading on the Blog about the Tipton Co TN animal shelter. Here is the link to their website that you may want to add to the article so if anyone wants to see their dogs, it will make it easier for them. Just trying to help!
Update 2 from Dogster Friend Lea and her furmom Daphne (Thanks Lea and Daphne for keeping us all up on what’s happening!)
Hi Joy and Sol,
We are feeling pretty awful about what is happening at the Tipton County, Tennessee Shelter. Like others, we have sent emails with the hopes that this will be stopped.
I would like to mention that the contact listed on petfinders is NOT a part of or and employee of this shelter. They are a rescue group aimed to help find homes for these furbabies. So I’m hoping that you will post this so that they won’t receive any more emails. I spoken with a contact there and they are doing everything they can but they are being over run with emails.
But by all means PLEASE everyone email, call, or visit the Tipton County, Tennessee Shelter and let it be known how you feel about this kind of action.
Friend Lea and Mom Daphne
Thanks Russell and Friend Lea for barking in!
