Have you heard “Talking Animals” yet, the animal-related radio show that runs Wednesday’s on WMNF? The shows are all archived online so if you can’t hear them when they run, you can always go back and listen later.
This week’s guest is Bob Barker.
Our guest June 14 on “Talking Animals”–airing Wednesday, 11:30am-noon EDT, on NPR’s WMNF (88.5 FM), and streaming live on the Internet via WMNF 88.5 FM –is BOB BARKER, perhaps best known as the longtime host of “The Price Is Right,” but also revered for his decades-long work as an animal activist.
This work includes his staunch stance against the wearing of fur, creating a foundation to address the dog and cat overpopulation crisis, and establishing endowments for the study of animal rights law at several prominent law schools–last month at Georgetown, on the heels of Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, Duke and Northwestern–with a $1 million donation to each school.
We’ll likely focus our conversation on this last element, not only for being a quintessential example of putting your money where your mouth (or activism) is, but also for the notion of providing this sort of animal rights education to those who will become the next generation of lawyers, policy-makers and politicians. Please join us for this conversation, and to present Barker on-air questions or comments, call 813-239-9663 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Now that’s radio worth listening to!
