Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa
Why are all these dogs in Arizona smiling? We think the whole dog/hotel thing is getting out of hand. But maybe you don’t. Here are a couple of prime choices for you and Spot, if you two have the bucks:
Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa in Sedona, Ariz., offers “Rouge and Pooch” rooms including a “Haute Pooch St. Tropez bed”, and “Bodhi Zen Mats.” Spot gets a gift bag that includes a “Southwest squeaky toy” and the “Bon Ton Waste Disposal Kit” (what are these things?). Cost: $499 for two nights in a deluxe guest room and a $50 dining credit for you. Information: www.sedonarouge.com.
If you and Spot want to get cool in the mountains instead of enlightened in the desert, Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colo., has a “Sit, Stay, Play” package. Spot gets a personalized welcome letter from the general manager (we’re not kidding), a Hotel Jerome dog tag and more. Best of all: a daily walking service and “pet-specific” housekeeping. Cost: $75 per stay. Rooms were running $475-$1,080 per night earlier this month. Information: www.hoteljerome.com.
