Its good to know SOME animal abusers are getting real jail time, as seen in this recent story from Fox 12 Oregon. Let's just hope he gets every minute of this well-deserved sentence!

OLYMPIA, Wash. A man who dragged his dog down a road in Olympia was sentenced to nearly two years in prison.

Forty-three-year-old William E. Murphy Junior was convicted earlier this month of animal cruelty and sentenced yesterday in Thurston County Superior Court.

He dragged the Labrador retriever named Bear behind a quadrunner last summer after it wandered into a neighbor's yard. The dog's paws were worn down to the bone. It has recovered while under the care of Thurston County Animal Services.

I hope Murphy's roomate in jail is a dog lover!
