This has just come in from Jim Willis (Pieces of My Heart. “How Could You?”).
Please cross-post and distribute.
Canine-Angels, Dewy Rose, (northeast) Georgia, is in trouble and these animals must be moved to legitimate rescues by June 3. All the info is on their site.
To facilitate that, they are holding an Open House this weekend, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. I’ve been informed by others that today, Saturday, nobody showed up. I’m sure they will work with any rescue to move as many animals after the Open House and prior to the June 3 deadline.
I have never been to the sanctuary and am not affiliated with them. I know the rumor mill has probably taken its toll on attendance and help for the animals. And that is exactly what it should be and only that – help for the animals. Please lay aside politics and anything else, real or imagined, and help publicize the needs of the animals.
Thank you in advance for anything you can do,
This is from the Canine Angels Homepage.
Save Our Angels!!
Please help us save Canine Angels. We have until June 3, 2006 to move as many dogs to safety as possible. Some of these dogs are under socialized, formerly feral dogs who were taken in to live out their lives. Some dogs have chronic medical conditions (mostly chronic demodex, some elderly, one mega esophagus, one autoimmune), some are just shy or unsure of new people, but many of these dogs, with love and patience, will be wonderful family companions.
The Canine Angels farm will be open this weekend, May 20-21, 2006 from 11am-6pm! All rescues must have valid GA Department of Agriculture Licenses. Out of state organizations please bring proper paperwork (tax ID, business license, etc.). There is no fee to transfer animals to licensed organizations. Thank you for your support!
Help us continue our mission. Let no dog be left behind. If you know of any no-kill shelters that may be able to assist in finding homes for (or providing sanctuary for) any of the animals featured on our site please call 706-213-9001 or 706-296-4488, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If any Dogsters participate in saving these dogs or even hear about the outcome, please report back and let the rest of us know what happened.
