I love it when Dogsters get active to make the world a better place for us all, two- and four-footed Dogsters alike! Thanks Gibbon for barking in to let us know about this new group, Doggie Do Gooders!

If you can post this on behalf of the group, Doggie Do Gooders, we would be most appreciative and big woofs to you!

Dear Joy,

With the permission of Elliot, one of the moderators of
Doggie Do Gooders (DDGs), I wanted to send a special announcement from this new group.

For those that do not know about DDGs (the group is new), we are a group of Dogster pups who are committed to donate money to one rescue organization every month. It can be anywhere from $1 to $100. In the coming months, items to donate will most likely be included as well. How it works is actually simple - any group member can nominate a rescue organization (usually about 8 to 10 are nominated), then the members p-mail their vote to Elliot. The organization that has majority vote is the pick of the month! It has to be a 501(c)(3) organization and if the organization cannot assist in keeping track of the donations on behalf of DDGs, members p-mail the amount they donated to the moderators.

I am very proud to announce that our first organization, Homeward Pet Adoption Center, was the pick for August. For those who know the plight of Jodimom and her pups, they took 3 of the Jodidogs and depending on funding, would take other pups too. So for the month of August, the 30 plus members were able to donate $400!!! A true accomplishment! Congrats DDGs members on our first month success!

Our September pick is The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals who desperately need funding to ensure that adoptable pets can be transported upstate to foster homes and other organizations for care until adopted. They transport 150 pets a month but rising gas prices has resulted in a financial crisis. We hope to help them
this month!

We are slowly growing and would love other pups to join (one pup per family). As we are a dedicated group, it is an invite only for those who believe they can donate an amount of their choice every month. If anyone is interested, they should go to DDGs page and send an invite request or just p-mail Elliot.

Thanks for the bark, Joy!

xoxo, Gibbon and Jazmine
