MapMuse Expands Services To Include Pets

Thanks to Jim Willis for passing this information on to the Dog Blog!

I am writing to let pet owners and pet professionals know that MapMuse.com has recently introduced pet topics to its interactive mapping services. MapMuse now has mapping for pet shops, animal shelters, pet boarding/ kennels, and pet sitters across the US. There are presently over 16,000 listing in these four categories.

The idea is for pet owners and pet care professionals to build upon what we have started by adding information about their local pet shops, pet sitters, animal shelters, and pet boarding/kennels to the maps. The following information can be provided for each place- the name, descriptive text, a photo, contact information, and a link to a website. Through this kind of community effort, we hope to have the most comprehensive, and descriptive maps for pet owners (or prospective pet owners) to locate pet shops, animal shelters, pet boarding/kennels, and pet sitters, at home and on their travels. So we invite you to let others know about what is available in your community. There is an ADD and EDIT feature on the site . Once a visitor suggests a change, it is reviewed for appropriateness and then posted within a few hours. This service constitutes free advertising for the pet care businesses.

You can access all of these topics by going to our Pets Directory at this link.

If you are not familiar with MapMuse.com, we are a highly trafficked mapping website with an Alexa traffic rating of approximately 15,000 in the world. MapMuse’s goal is to help people find places related to their interests. MapMuse continues to add new topics of interest each week. If you have a topic that you would like to see mapped, you can suggest the interest on the MapMuse site, and there is a good chance it will be addressed.
