Gavin with his art

This Friday April 7th, art by and about dogs goes on the auction block at the Mad Arf Exhibit and Silent Auction. The event benefits Stray Rescue of St. Louis, an organization that rescues street dogs and other at-risk dogs. Stray Rescue actually serves Missouri strtays and stray dogs across the river in East St. Louis, Illinois as well.

So what's different about this event? Much of the art has actually been done by some of the strays. Dogs, like Gavin above, have put paw to paper to create one of a kind masterpieces. The other art focuses on some of the rescued dogs. You can read more about the event and the featured dogs at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch story.

Mad Arf will be at the Mad Art Gallery at 2727 South 12th Street in St. Louis. Admission is free and the event runs from 7 to 11 PM. The show runs through April 15th. For more information email

If any of you Missouri Mutts plan to be there, let me know! And you know if you take pictures we'd love it if you'd share them with us!
