Brittany and Carrot Top

Ever wonder what happened to Carrot Top, the red-haired comedian who seemed to hang around a lot of phone booths in commericals for a certain company? Well, he's hanging out in Las Vegas playing catch with his Black Lab, Brittany. Turns out Carrot Top is a great furdaddy! Check out this article from the very entertaining magazine, The Vegas Dog!

His trademark bushy, curly, bright red Irish Setter hair is the opposite of the short, sleek, black hair of his Black Lab, Brittany." Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson says, Growing up we had an Irish Setter. We would have stare-offs, the dog wondering, Are you an Irish Setter?" (It was a joke, but a good joke). Romping in the backyard, Carrot Top plays a game with Brittany. Down on his hands and knees, Carrot Top holds a ball in his mouth and they stare at each other, Brittany doing the Lab thing and quivering in anticipation of catching the ball. Brittany may not be wondering if Carrot Top is an Irish Setter, but she cant wait for him to make his move, throw the ball and get the game started.

Carrot Top has become one of the most popular comedians in America. He can joke about anything. He did not intend to become a comedian and majored in Marketing in college. I was always a class clown," he says. I always wanted to make people laugh." One night in college, there was an open mike, stand-up talent show. Friends encouraged him to go because he was funny. I dont know why I did it." He told some old jokes and people liked him. He did it again after writing some of his own jokes, including his first prop and the rest is history.

He has become a household name since he starred on the 1-800-CALL-ATT commercials. In his stage performances he uses props as visual jokes. From a paper cup and string telephone with a third cup for call waiting, to a toilet seat with spikes to keep people from using your bathroom, he shows his own original style in his jokes.

Born and raised in Cocoa Beach, Florida his family always had dogs. We mostly had big dogs," he says. Except for Pepper our Schnauzer. Pepper lived to over 100 years old in human years! He was seventeen when he died." Carrot Top is an avid animal lover. We mostly had Dobermans and as a kid I had snakes, hamsters, and a squirrel. I had a lizard that died and I was so bummed," he recalled sadly. Ive always been a dog lover," says Carrot Top. If people dont like dogs, I dont like them."
