Australian Woman and Dog Win Prize for Looking Alike
I think Maree and Chester are absolutely adorable! As cute as Chester is, its a compliment to be compared to him!
This fun news comes from Milton-Ulladulla.
Hair of the dog ... they're two of a kind
Describing someone as looking like their dog would offend some people - not so Maree Woolstencraft, from Weetangera, in Canberra.
Yesterday she was absolutely thrilled to win a prize for it at the Dogs' Day Out event.
Chester, her Cavalier King Charles spaniel, was among more than 200 dogs and their owners who attended the event at Lake Ginninderra.
"It is the only thing I have ever won," Ms Woolstencraft said.
She said she had owned Chester for about two years, since he was 11 weeks old. "He is highly intelligent, rarely barks, very affectionate and loving, and is my baby."
But what of the similarity?
"Perhaps my husband can help?" she said.
He - Charlie - suggested it must have been the matching hairdos.
As for Chester, Ms Woolstencraft said he just loved to eat.
"I must say, he is a little wide at the rear."
Her prize included doggy toys, treats and magazines.
She thought she would keep the magazines.
"I haven't taught my dog to read yet."
