Most Definately not a Dress Up gal at all, bol. Will skulk & look very put upon at any additions, so not in my repertoire. However LOVE my new Thundershirt & recommend it for others to try if the need for fear issues. It's a Very swaddling comfort. Hugs & Pokes,

Mom will dress me for a special occasion. But it doesn't last long, because I am not a happy camper when dressed!
I don't mind just the tee shirts, I can handle those, although, I do appreciate my winter jacket in the snow.

We brought Brutus home in the December when he was 7 weeks old. We had gotten a ton of snow a few nights after we brought him home, and he was freezing outside. It was so sad to see little Brutus outside shivering when he was just 7 weeks old :( So, we bought him a navy blue sweater which he only wore during the Winter. He couldn't wear it in any other season anyways because he quickly grew out of it! He didn't seem to mind the sweater when he had to wear it. Buckeye hasn't dressed up for anything. He used to have an Ohio State Buckeyes jersey which he grew out of, so now Brutus wears it.. probably twice a year for fun! We've put cat ears and a t-shirt on Buckeye before so he could be a black cat for Halloween (which didn't work out so well) but he was cute. I guess both of our dogs don't mind just wearing a simple sweater or shirt, but putting on a hat, etc, they wouldn't agree with.

My dogs all have differing opinions. BOL

Sandy HATES it unless it is cold. I guess she'd learned that when it's cold, her sweater will help make her warm? When she was a puppy, she was indifferent to it. Didn't care either way. But as she grew, she started finding ways out of them and hates it now. In Winter, though, she'll shove her own head into the sweater.

Sakura and Precious love it. Once they see their shirts or sweaters, they come running and practically put them on themselves. xD

Meepster, Cinnamon and Lilo are all indifferent.

Chance used to like it, but only because he loved rolling around when he was dressed. Silly boy.

Birdie likes to wear his cold weather coats and jackets. Since he has not undercoat, they are a necessity. He doesn't wear clothes for play though. He looks nerdy enough without dressing him up! :)

Winter jacket, sometimes a rain slicker. Otherwise just a bandanna, sometimes...My mom will 'dress me up' for a photo session, but then it all comes right off again! BOL!

Milo wears his harness while working, and I have put boots on him for extreme weather. Other than that, he doesn't dress up other than wearing the occasional bandana.

PLEASE...let your animals be animals. They were not meant to wear clothes! OK.. I will let you all do Halloween or if the weather is nasty (I have one Greyhound who wears a coat when it is cold.) These pets are not babies. I also don't get the people who push their small dogs around in strollers. They have 4 feet...let them walk!

I don't believe animals should wear clothing unless they are little delicate pets with not enough fur to keep them warm in the winter. I also disagree with the stroller idea. I think this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed. These are animals, not children. Granted, we love our dogs, but if we truly love them, we will let them BE dogs.

Buck was in a 4th of July parade, so he wore an Uncle Sam hat. He didn't mind it, but I took it off when the parade was over. Buck also has a sweater for the winter months - he grew up in San Diego and isn't used to the cold we have in the Bay Area.
The closest Luther gets to being dressed up is wearing his backpack...

Hey that's my German Shepherd Bianca and my cat Harlequin in the costume photo on the main page! :)

That photo was from last Halloween, and they won a costume contest with their Little Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf costumes. Neither Bianca nor Harley minded the costumes. You can see more photos of them in costume on Bianca's and Harlequin's Dogster/Catster pages.

If my dog had clothes on like in this picture she would most likely hate me and or bite me. She hates clothes. Hates them. I don't blame her she has too much fur, she is always hot. :)

Dogs do not need to wear "cloths" for they have their own cloths. It's called fur. It looks sad to see a god wearing something and it's over 90 degrees outside. I feel sorry for the animal. Now if it's very cold out and the dog is a skinny one or one with a thin coat then I understand. But other than that it doesn't seem necessary or cute even to put a dog in people cloths.

I do not dress up my dogs. They do have a ton of bandanas (for ALL the seasons, holidays, etc. that they wear for photos and special occassions), but that's as far as it goes. I owned a dog jacket (thinking my first dog may get cold) but he would swim in the midst of winter, so we never used it and gave it away. I must admit though I did buy a hilarious pink top for Vista to put on her as a joke. It is indeed hilarious, and she's only worn it once or twice around the house just to amuse us (she tolerates it for us). We call it her "pink nighty" and we never keep it on for more than a few minutes.
As an exception, my mom's shih tzu needs clothes to keep warm in the winter!

My Pom never wears clothes but my min pin and poodle wear clothes once it turns chilly. The min pin really needs them. I say "to each his/her own" so it doesn't bother me one way or the other. Dogs are a not wolves and have been domesticated in many ways. Wearing clothes is just one way we've domesticated some of them. As long as they and their owners are happy, I'm happy.
