Thiamine Deficiency & Health Risks

Thiamine (Vitamin B1) is essential for cats. Cats fed diets low in thiamine over time may be at risk for developing a deficiency. If treated promptly, thiamine deficiency is typically reversible.

Early Symptoms in Cats:

  • Decreased appetite, salivation, vomiting, failure to grow, weight loss

Advanced Symptoms – Contact a Veterinarian Immediately:

  • Ventroflexion (bending of the neck toward the floor), mental dullness, vision changes, wobbly walking, circling, falling, and seizures

To date, the company has received one confirmed report of illness associated with the recalled product. The affected cat was treated by a veterinarian and has fully recovered.
