First of all, who turned on the heat?
Walking is very hard work, and it is an important job assigned to only an elite set of dogs, people, horses, and cars. When you see another dog, person, horse, or car watching you walk, you cannot just stop and grab a drink, or lie down on a nice comfy bed. And if a dog talks to you, you are not supposed to answer, you just smile and wag and you keep walking, that's all you do, just walk, and smile and wag and sometimes you can go up to sniff something.
When people see you they usually point, and then they wave their hands, which they can do because they're not walking on four feet, like I am. They aren't really moving at all, really, unless you count waving their hands, which really isn't much work if you think about it. Even if they're not sitting but instead standing up, they're still not doing as much work as I am because they're not walking.
I would like to say that I am happy to walk for the people, but what would make me happier would be if they had people handing out biscuits along the way as they cheer us on to the finish line. Sometimes people will run for no reason in particular even though they have all the food, and I think it is because they get to have food handed to them while they're running. If dogs could have little tasty morsels dropped on the ground for us, that would really be something to look forward to. Well maybe I will suggest that as an improvement for next year.

Today we went to the place with the toys and the snacks. The last time I went there it was empty except for one person and one dog, and there were free treats sitting in a basket, and I almost caught a fuzzy duck.
This time there were lots of people and some of my greyhound friends, Xander (no tomato), and Kid, and there was also Flint and Twist who is new. She didn't even realize how much fun it was. So the first thing I did was to redesign the display of little stuffed monkeys to my liking. Then of course I made sure all the treats were accounted for. I like the beefy rawhides because they're already unwrapped and they're not too high up. Next to these was the BIG BONE. It looks very tasty and I think I could really do a lot of good work with it. I am just the dog to take on such a worthy project.
A lot of people came to see me and said I was very soft, which is of course a result of all my hard work making sure I work out, eat the right foods and get my beauty rest. The only thing is, I wish they would have more treats. I had to settle for neck rubs and ear scratches which thankfully are easy to come by with the patented Baby Go Nose-2-Tail technique.
Step One, point nose in direction of interest.
Step Two, look soulfully at desired object.
Step Three, twitch nose and ears.
Step Four, while maintaining 1-3, sit.
It is a combination PROVEN to work! Thousands of treats issued!
After we left I was very tired, but thankfully we had a very short car trip and then I could take my nap. Phew! That was a lot to do for one day, but it's all worth it in the end.

Last night I got to smell the room upstairs. The twisty stairs were scary, but there were biscuits at the top. There were also some nice toys which I wanted to bring back with me, but I forgot to get them before I left. The other dog wasn’t there so it would have been easy to take them. I’ll have to remember to get them some other time.
Today I got to play with Mr. Pibbs, but he does not run fast enough so I had to wear my muzzle from the track. I don’t want to wear it. But people still tell me I’m a pretty girl and pet me so I guess it’s ok. Anyway she wouldn’t take it off even though I asked several times. Pibbs and Bill were attacking each other or something except that they were smiling. I don’t like that so I stand by the people where it’s safer.
Cally and Buddy were playing with the ball. The people would kick it in the air and they run after it. It makes a loud booming noise that I don’t like very much. Then the ball stops and they carry it in their mouth. I don’t know why because I don’t think you can eat it. Buddy would always bring it back which I don’t understand either because the people would just kick it away again.
Lady came too but she doesn’t like it when I play with her. She is a little girl dog. I wasn’t doing anything, honest! She just barks at me because she was playing chase that one time except I guess she didn’t want to play chase even though she was running away from me. She is just jealous because I am a tall redhead.
