Last week, hundreds of dogs were seized (mostly Pit Bulls) and 25-30 people were arrested during raids conducted in multiple U.S. states. The raids were the largest coordinated rescue in U.S. history, suggesting that the popularity of the lucrative blood sport is at an all-time high: in the U.S. alone, an estimated 40,000 people are involved in organized rings, another 100,000 in "street" dog fighting.
