“August 22, 2006…Williams Bay, Wisconsin…After nearly 20 years in the Geneva Lakes Area, Horse & Hound Pet Supplies and Grooming has changed its name to more accurately reflect the true focus of the business. Owner since 1995, and Geneva Lake West Chamber member since 2005, Karen Conell has changed the name to The Bark Market LLC effective September 1, 2006. "When the store began in Lake Geneva it was truly half equine-focused, with everything from supplies and tack to western jewelry. For the past three years we have focused on dogs and cats, and will continue to do so," she states. "The new name better reflects our focus." The store and salon, located in the Mid-Lakes Village just off Highway 50 between Delavan and Lake Geneva, focuses on quality pet care from supplies to on-site grooming and obedience training. "We carry only the finest quality of pet food, like Merrick natural products, Wellness, and Timber Wolf Organics, as well as grooming products, leashes, collars and other supplies," says Conell. On any given morning, she cheerfully greets each of her (canine and feline) clients by first name, with a smile and a friendly scratch on the head, which is most often returned with an appreciative wag of the tail or a purr.
