Campgrounds Blue Ridge Parkway M.P. 60.8 Big Island, VA 24526 There are 45 tent and 24 RV sites available on a 1st come 1st served basis with many by the river, and campfire circles, drinking water, restrooms, dump stations, concessionaires, and interpretive services are available here. Four beautiful trails can be accessed, one being the James River Canal Trail leading to the restored 1845-51 canal locks that went from Richmond to Buchanan, Virginia. Dogs are allowed throughout the park and on the trails for no additional pet fee. Dogs must be well behaved, under owner's control, on no more than a 6 foot leash, and cleaned up after at all times. This rv park is closed during the offseason. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
