“Dogs on leash are allowed at this botanical garden. The 31 acre garden is on the south bank of the Colorado River, close to downtown Austin. Enjoy garden themes like the Fragrance Garden, Prehistoric Garden, Rose Garden, Oriental Garden and more. The grounds are usually open daily from 7am until dark. Food is not allowed in the gardens, except for certain special events. However, you can have a picnic in the adjacent dog-friendly Zilker Metropolitan Park. Admission to the garden is free. The garden is located in Zilker Park, south of Town Lake and east of MoPac (Loop 1). From MoPac (Loop 1), take the FM 2244/Rollingwood exit and follow the signs for Zilker Park. Watch for the Zilker Botanical Garden's dark green signs. The garden is located on the left at 2220 Barton Springs. ”

(unless you are a rowdy dog who chomps on leaves & digs up flower gardens, bol) You must also take poop bags because it is a botanical garden enjoyed by many small children. It's a very calming place featuring unusual plants from all over the world, and koi ponds. |
