Derry Dog Park

I went to the park at off hours. Your exerience will depend on the dogs and their owners. There are some great people who have "play dates" and times that they go so there won't be anyone else there. The rest of the time it is a zoo. People hang out in a pack and it is free reign for the dogs. Too many people don't pay attention to their dogs and you dog gets mauled, jumped on and mounted! The regulars pick up after their dogs, others do not. I would NEVER go on a weekend, it is filled with dogs that have no manners. People bring their dogs there after never walking them and they are insane. Beware.

Derry Dog Park

This park could be so much better if the dog owners were more attentive to there dogs. There have been a few instances where there have been dogs that have be bitten by other dogs & the owners do not take responsibility. I use to bring Pixie there all the time until one afternoon there were too many dominant dogs that kept gathering & fighting. Pixie always came down with giardia after visiting this park. Which is from the excessive moisture & poop that has not been picked up. I think this park will get better when more parks in the surrounding towns open & less people from outside the area go there. There is a group of volunteers that work very hard to keep that park in good condition. For now my dog will go to daycare where I feel she is safe & in a much more controlled environment. This park is better suited for large dogs.

Love it

We love our local dog park, but sometimes there are a lot of humans there who are much more concerned with socializing with each other than keeping an eye on and picking up after their dogs. The humans are what need work and supervision - not the dogs.
