Beatrice Humane Society is a relatively small shelter. There are 17 dog kennels and 2-3 rooms for cats. There are always a varity of cats to choose from and they are overloaded with kittens in the spring. The number of dogs varies but there are new ones for adoption almost every week with a variety of ages and breeds. There is an application process that requires a vet reference. The adoption fees are very reasonable and include all of their shots (unless kittens and puppies are too young for rabies) and spay and neuter. The dogs are started on heartworm prevention as well. Hours are 2-6pm M-F and 12-3 on Saturday.
