A goodish Walk... But unfortunatley, Castle Island has no strictly off leash areas for dogs. The pp is correct; it does get very congested in fair weather, as it is a popular recreation area in Southie. Otherwise, Castle Island is beautiful and we highly reccomend it! Every time we go we meet new people out with thier babies and thier dogs... and it's my favorite place to poop at! If you want more of a strenuous walk, try walking from the Island, around the sugar bowl, and back along the beach. |
Great Place to swim and to walk if...I love this place in the summer if I wanna go for a swim...but on a busy summer afternoon/evening.. it's kinda hard to take a walk at castle island. Castle Island can get very packed and not much room to run. But walking up to the south boston beach is a much better place to be. posted: September 7th, 2007 |
Historic Castle Island is great for friendly dogs, lots of kids and people on bikes, roller blades, etc. There is a beach for a nice swim too! |
