“Finally - a Roswell dog park! The city recently openend a dog park at Leila Thompson Park, in front of the Arts Center West building. It has a large section for all dogs and a slightly smaller section for dogs under 25lbs. There is dual gate entry to contain dogs trying to make a break for it, water fountains at human and canine height, and plenty of parking. We had a great time this weekend and will definately be going back again!”
5 PawsMy brother Austin and I LOVE this park! It's the bestest park we have ever been to. It could use a few tree's and maybe a few more places for those humans we love to sit. The humans that bring their doggies are really responsible and if their doggie acts out then they stop them. 90% of the dogs that come are really nice. Of course some try to hump, others ignore everyone, I just make my rounds to get lovies from all the humans. :) 75% of the time the smaller dogs are in our side of the park. Most of the small dogs live with bigger dogs so they know how to be around them and not get under their feet. It can get a little dangerous for little doggies when the big ones get excited and start running and wrestling. They don't watch out for those cutie pies, but humans do so its ok. Fur the most part us big doggies do behave rather well with smaller dogs and children in our area. That's another thing mommy likes, are the number of well behaved dogs that come to play. The water fountain works, but someone always has a bowl and fresh water to share with everyone. Mommy has only seen one person bring treats in -which of course can cause problems at any dog park- but the lady quickly puts them up when she see's that I am not going to leave her alone. :) We have made many great paw pals who come on the regular basis. Humans are also chatty and friendly with each other. So it looks like mommy enjoys being there too! Can't say enough good things about this park. There are ALWAYS poopy bags available. The only thing is when it rains it gets a little mucky. Also it would be great if the city would put in a few more benches and some trees!! :) posted: December 30th, 2007 |
Loved it! Good Times! Good Fun! Good Drink!Great place, not only does the Leila Thompson Park offer miles of hiking trails for my dad to enjoy, they have this really cool play area for me when the walk is over! I get to play with other neighborhood dogs that I would never get a chance to play with otherwise. Us big dogs get to play on one side, and the little ones have their own are to play in. However, from what I have seen, us big dogs are so well behaved most of the little dogs spend their time on our side. I might be a "Bully Breed", but I am a marshmellow on the inside :) See you soon! posted: April 12th, 2007 |
I made some new friends!Mom & Dad took us here this weekend. There were so many nice doggies there for me to play with! I ran and ran until I was pooped. We went to the area for doggies under 25lbs since I'm a wee girl. Dad took my big bro Harvey to the side for all dogs so he could run with the big dogs. There were a bunch playing fetch wth balls and frisbees. It looked like a lot of fun! We had a great time and Mom & Dad promised we could go again next weekend! Woof - I can't wait! 1 pet found this review helpful |
