“Waveny Park in New Canaan has a wonderful, large, completely fenced dog park!”
One of our favorite parks in the FCOur dogs LOVE this park. It is a huge fenced in playground for our little guys. Everyone is pleasant and 99.9% time the dogs are well behaved. There is ample seating for mom/dad as well as some shaded areas. We love how the have a people/dog water fountain and plenty of poop bags/garbage areas. Highly recommend this park especially if you are starting to socialize your dog. This was one of the first I brought Cujo when a puppy and one of his favorite places to visit when we go back home to CT each month. |
Spencer's Run ROCKS!I live in Greenwich and my mom takes me all the way to New Canaan for the BEST Dog Park EVER! There are alot of great dogs to play with, trees, benches for us to sit on, fresh water and plenty of parking too. (Note: The Greenwich Dog Park was built on a land fill and now there is glass coming up & other sharp debris in the dirt - Please tell all your dog friends to NOT go there - or they might cut their paws. Mom told the people at the Town Hall, but they have not done a thing about it. Next we're going to News Channel 7 for some REAL help! |
Great Dog Park!We greyhounds sometimes have a hard time finding safe dog parks, because even the smallest opening is seen as an "escape hatch" to us. This dog park is large enough for us to feel really free... yet completely fenced and safe. The other dogs are well behaved and fun, and since New Canaan is a pretty ritzy town, visiting this dog park is like spending a day at the Westminster Dog Show. Of course, mutts are welcome too! There's a doggie water fountain, plenty of poop bags and nice seating for the humans. Do us a favor, though... leave your toddlers at home! A dog park is no place for small children. |
