“In the last 50 years and old Navy pier has been converted into a wetlands area park. It's a unique land spit extending into the bay that also serves as a haven for migratory and estuary birds. Due to the fragile bird habitat it's important to keep all dogs on leash that have any interest in rummaging through undergrowth and chasing wildlife. But it's a great place. At the end the spit it's completely fine for dogs to be off leash. There's a also a calm bay for the swimmers!”
I love this placeIt's one of my favorites. It's in the middle of a city, but it feels wild. There's a protected cove or a long spit with water on all sides. There's lots of walkways and singular views of the city. Please note, it's near a weird part of town so I wouldn't go too early or late or leave the windows down in the car. But I've been dozens of times and there's never any problem. 1 pet found this review helpful |
