“The San Francisco SPCA is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless dogs and cats, to providing lifesaving care and treatment to dogs and cats in need, to helping pets stay in loving homes, and to cultivating respect and awareness for the rights and needs of animals and the importance of the human-animal bond.”
Great idea, but their policy on Pit Bulls is small mindedThey will not adopt out pit bulls who do not come from a "known" background. I would not have been eligible to be adopted there since I was found in a box with my sister. I think they do great work, but they need to open their scope to help place the large number of sweet, lovely pit bulls who need homes! |
My old home. The SF SPCA saved me from being euthanised become my old shelter was running out of place. Then the SF SPCA helped train my humans and I. I also get all of my shots and health follow ups taken care of there, they're great! 1 pet found this review helpful |
SFSPCAThis is a first rate rescue organization/shelter. Not only do they house the cats and dogs in spacious condos (no cages) they very carefully screen to match up pets with owners. They are a "no kill' organiztion and they will keep an animal as long as it takes it to get adopted and if it never gets adopted they keep it forever. They provide classes and have many community service programs such as the Feral Fix program for neutering and spaying feral cats. They have a well designed, very informative web site. 1 pet found this review helpful |
