Sunset Hills Kennels ResponseFirst, my thanks to our loyal customers who brought this post to our attention. My name is Jeff Sabatini, my wife Sharon and I own and operate Sunset Hills Kennels. Unlike the person who left the previous post, we have the fortitude not to hide behind an online persona. We know who this person is and about the other libelous statements and rumors about us being circulated both online, around town and are consulting with an attorney on the matter. There are some people who plainly refuse to follow rules. We share our location with a horse boarding and training facility. At any time, a horse may be led or ridden past our customer parking area so we have a steadfast rule that all dogs must be on a slip lead or collar (often called a choke collar) when being checked in & out (however, such collars are never worn while boarding). One can imagine the chaos and potential injury to both animals and humans that might occur from a loose dog spooking a horse. In our over 20 years because of this rule we have never had such an incident. This person had been told repeatedly NOT to let the dog run loose to and from the car and to arrive with the proper equipment on the dog. For those who forget, we provide slip leads stationed and available at our entrance. We respect that some people do not like choke collars, but this is a matter of safety and non-negotiable for everyone. On this occasion and because of prior history, Sharon led the dog to the car herself. The dog is elderly and when the owner failed to assist the dog into the SUV, Sharon (properly) lifted the dog into the vehicle. Just like smokers who refuse to respect your asking them not to light up in your home, we reserve the right to restrict access to those who repeatedly ignore our safety rules. Such was the case with this person and I am sure the real reason for such a post. Sites like this can be of great help, but are also a haven for nameless malcontents to spread lies and innuendo. We strongly suggest you also consult your local Vets about the boarding facility you might wish to use. Vets care for all the dogs boarded in their area and would be the first to see and report any occurrence of abuse or neglect. It is said that in a divorce there is his side, her side and the truth. We stand on our well established record and will allow the reader to be the judge here. posted: April 28th, 2008 |
