“The Dog Beach Zone is three acres at-the-water fun for off-leash exercise. The Dog Zone is not a dedicated “dog beach.” This recreational opportunity is overseen by the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, with the assistance of the Recreation Dog Park Association and HauteDogs.org founder/director Justin Rudd!

The Dog Zone is a non-supervised facility. Use at your own risk. The City of Long Beach and the Recreation Dog Park Association accept no responsibility for the behavior of dogs, dog owners, or general beach patrons.

The Dog Zone is on the beach in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach. It is generally located between Roycroft and Argonne Avenues. For parking, enter at Bennett Avenue (from Ocean Boulevard).

The Dog Zone is in effect from 6am to 8pm every day. The Dog Zone may be closed occasionally due to a special event or poor beach conditions.

The Dog Zone has 800 metered parking (25 cents/15 minutes or street parking is free), trash cans, a doggie water fountain at the parking lot and nearby restrooms. Some bags are provided in dispensers, but users are encouraged to bring their own bags from home.”

I love this place!

There is something so therapeutic about the waves, it seems to calm every dog down and there aren't as many yappy/nippy incidents at the dog beach. We prefer the beach! Remember that they restrict the hours there, so be informed before you head over there. Enjoy the waves, the sand and the pooches!

A lot of Fun

I liked the beach. . .there were lots of other dogs there, but I wasn't allowed to run wild until we got past the cones. . . that's why it's called "the zone"
