“SAFE is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to developing a comprehensive, community-based resolution to the euthanasia of adoptable companion animals. Understanding the euthanasia problem is the first step toward obtaining this goal. The traditional response of "spay or neuter your pet" fails to address the realities of how animals end up in shelters in the first place. SAFE is committed to working with the public and shelters to discover the real causes of companion animal euthanasia and to developing effective programs that can be implemented now to help reduce the percentage of adoptable animals destroyed each year. We're committed to saving as many homeless pets as we can, and we need your help. SAFE works hand in hand with local and nearby animal shelters. ”
Thank you!Thank you for saving me from the pound before they put me down! And thank you for helping me find my mommy and daddy! You were very helpful to them and they really appreciate it! We hope for the very best for your organization! |
SAFE Rescues Soldiers' AnimalsMommy and I have never been here, but we are in awe of one of their primary goals: to save pets' of soldiers who are being sent overseas. Here's what their website has to say "One of the most important things we do is to rescue animals for soldiers from Ft. Huachuca, who have been deployed to Iraq, and Afganistan. We are the only shelter doing that, at the moment. If we did not bring these animals in (and there are WAY too many of them), they are euthanized (put down) within a day or two of rescue. Most of the soldier's dogs are well behaved, well trained and as traumatized as the soldiers who have to leave them behind." Hooray for SAFE for stepping up when no one else did. |
