Happy Stanley takes a much-needed break from his typical active day

Remember Stanley, who starred in the 5-Kleenex video, “When One Person Does Just One Thing“? He had clearly given up hope at a high-kill shelter, and would have surely been dead well before the New Year. But one person did just one thing, and so did many others.

We’ve had a few requests for updates since we posted the video, and a subsequent video update. The latest request comes from Terry Stanley (no relation to Stanley — we think…)

Good news, Terry and other Stanley fans: Stan the Man is doing great. He’s in a loving foster home while he awaits surgery on his eye. He’s being treated for mange. He’s getting a lot of attention and love, and applications to adopt him are streaming in. (Sorry US residents, but Stanley will only be adopted to residents of Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada.) He can’t be adopted until after his eye surgery, which is coming up Feb. 17.

Stanley has a Facebook page with frequent updates. You can also check out Respect–Bull’s blog, which often features Stanley.

Life is good!
