Way to go Pam Bell! I was glad to read this good news from USA Today.

Seattle dog lost at Memphis airport found safe 3 weeks later

MEMPHIS (AP) A dog that escaped from his shipping crate at Memphis International Airport was found Monday by a concerned animal lover after nearly three weeks on the loose.

The 75-pound Great Dane mix named Bailey was shipped from Seattle by his owners, Chris and Laura Pierce, to stay for a few months with Chris Pierce’s stepfather and mother, Richard and Lelia Ripley.

But a Northwest Airlines employee opened the crate when it arrived Dec. 12 and Bailey sprinted across the tarmac and disappeared. The airline apologized to the owners and offered a $250 reward.

When Pam Bell of Germantown heard about the missing dog she posted fliers and began searching the fields and neighborhoods surrounding the airport.

“That dog was in my dreams,” Bell said.

Last week she received a call from someone near the airport who had spotted the dog. Early on New Year’s Day she found Bailey in a trap that she had baited with fried chicken.
