Chapter 8: Dog Health Care
Comments for This Page (5) | Post a CommentI think this is okay BUT you also should have your dog(s) taken to the vet every month for check ups, because people that can do this and are not vets something could be wrong with there dog and they don't know it. Then they try something like this or something else that is not good for your dog it could die! ALWAYS take to the vet at least every month or 2-3 months! PLEASE! OR your loved one could be in BIG danger, i think it is stupid for dogster.com to put this on here, not everyone knows what they are doing! KIDS CAN READ THIS AND HURT THERE DOG! LISTEN THE ANIMAL SHELTER WONT DEAL WITH THAT THEY WOULD PORB. GO TO JAIL OR PAY MONEY OR BOTH! DON'T PUT STUFF LIKE THIS OUT HERE GO FREAKIN FIGURE! I think it's a good idea to put this diagram on dogster.com. Yes I do believe taking your dog to the vet is very important but, checking your dogs health on your own everyday could potenially safe your dogs life. If you notice something irregular during the self examination then you can call the vet and figure out what's wrong right away. I think this is a GREAT ASSET to DOGSTER TOO ! I check my two Babies EVERYDAY from TOP - BOTTOM & Head - Toe ! Its always better to be safe than sorry ! This should be a Daily Routine for every Pawrent for their Fur - Babies ! Its GREAT BONDING time TOO ! THANK YOU ! DOGSTER ! YOUR THE GREATEST ! Lv, Lixs, Mojotiki, Sierra & Mommy (Lue) As a dog trainer, I include a basic how to examine your own dog in the class I teach. Not only are owners learning what is normal, they are bonding with their pet, so if something is abnormal, they'll be able to comfort them as needed. I always recommend having a vet check out something that looks abnormal. Post a Comment for This Page

I think self exams are very important but I feel this falls short. For first time pet parents I can't push enough to go to the vet. Go over these issues in regards to the home self exam with an expert. Until you and your dog are one something may seem normal but in fact may very well not be. Sassy has had things that others would think is normal but I know for her it wasn't. I haven't missed yet.
