Common Problems in Senior Dogs

  • Gradual decline of auditory sensors
  • Degradation of visual sensors caused primarily by lens deterioration or cataracts
  • Gastrointestinal distress caused by lack of tolerance for dietary changes
  • Loss of muscle and bone mass, cartilage deterioration, and arthritis
  • Hair whitening and loss
  • Heart murmurs triggered by scarred or poorly functioning heart valves
  • Incontinence triggered by loss of kidney function and bladder control; decreasing mental function may also cause the dog to "forget" its house-training

When I go to "A Dog's Final Days" nothing can be clicked on or any information comes up. What's up?

I agree with Penny Hadden. What is striking to me is that the Dogster people appear to care less. Penny posted this back in June and it STILL hasn't been fixed. Very sad. I don't think Dogster much cares for its users. :(

I'm in agreement with the post regarding Penny Hadden's question. Why hasn't any info been posted about this subject?

Quirk BooksThe Dog Owner's Manual is a basic guide to dog care.
The book was written by a celebrated veterinarian and an acclaimed author. It provides dog owners with well-researched and helpful information presented in a lighthearted manner. The creators chose to write the book in a style similar to what you'd find in "operating instructions" for a car or computer. Of course they--and we--respect the fact that our beloved pets are not products or machines!
